The Hope Centre is a place of healing, waiting and hope before and after surgery. Patient wait there after their surgeries for outpatient appointments if they live far away, patients wait if they are not strong enough or healthy enough just yet for surgery and patient wait there after they have had extensive surgery such as Tamba who walked on top of his feet...his toes were facing backwards and now they are completly up and straight and pointing the right way! He is going to continue with physio for the near future and no matter how much pain he seems to be in he continues to smile big and laugh the most gorgeous heart felt laugh!

Notice the little boy standing beside Andreas, He is the little one i mentioned who has the tumor. He is waiting for surgery which will hopefully be next week.

The boy on the right has
also had surgery for club feet and is almost ready to go home!
You always end up with a child on your back, knee or generally just hanging out of you when you get to the Hope Centre but it is such a fun place to go on a day off!
Hannah, we're thinking of you all the time at Campus Church and praying for you regularly. For some reason it is fiendishly difficult to leave a comment (problems with the "profile" request) so no comments don't mean no-one is reading your blogs ... which are fascinating. I'm trying a different browser.
ReplyDeleteHurrah! That worked! The Lord bless your labours for him. All is well at the Campus Church and Hilary's post-operative scan showed no residual tumour. So no further treatment and she starts back to work part time tomorrow. We praise the Lord for His goodness.
ReplyDeleteHi Hannah,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds to me as if you won't want to come back to the UK! We are so pleased that you are clearly enjoying life on board, the nursing and so many other fun things. We miss you here. Guessens is very quiet. No students, almost nobody, in fact, but we are still finding plenty to keep us busy. 8 volunteers arrive next week for ten days. Decorating, gardening etc. I just have to keep them fed and happy, whilst Andy organizes the work. But last year it was a really fun time too. As I write I can hear Andy doing his piano practice. I do 20 minutes...he can go on for 90 mins! After about an hour I encourage use of headphones!!
Much love, Jean
